twenty one pilots releases new album, Blurryface
Twenty one pilots released a fourth studio album, Blurryface, on May 18. The release is another great album full of diverse songs, leading them to Number 1 on Billboard’s 200 chart.
Compared to their previous album, Vessel, Blurryface introduces many themes the band has never approached before and as in result, has a stronger relation to teens. It’s no surprise that the album is #3 on iTunes’ charts, with “Stressed Out” at #77 and “Tear in My Heart” at #95 only after being released merely a week and a half ago.
“Blurryface easily tops my scoring with a 9/10 rating. The album delivers on all ends of the spectrum; creativity, catchiness, originality, length, and meaning. Some of the songs are less enjoyable than others, but that’s expected on 14-track records,” Brendan Buffa wrote in his review on www.westernherald.com. “Twenty One Pilots will keep bringing in fans as long as they keep putting out albums like this.”
The album is very relatable to teens with songs like “Stressed Out” that talks about the worries of young adults, with the lyrics “Used to dream of outer space but now they’re laughing at our face. Saying, ‘Wake up, you need to make money.'”
“We still hear [Tyler] Joseph grappling with his inner demons, but there’s also a love song, a song about the band’s struggle to maintain their creativity and moments of nostalgia for their childhood,” Madeline Wells, staff writer from Daily Cal, wrote.
