A special thanks
I want my shout-out to be my math teacher, Ms. O’Connor, because she’s been really helpful during elearning. She always tries to make sure that we understand completely, and has resources available in case we don’t. I really like her teaching style because she is very thorough and explains hard topics very well.

I’d like to shout out my French teacher, Mme Norberg for always being super positive. She’s always smiling and checking in on us. As we’ve switched back and forth from hybrid to eLearning Mme Norberg has been super flexible and even when we had a substitute in the hybrid model as soon as she came back she kept us right on track with what we were learning.

“I want to shout out my PE teacher [Dean] Jewett. He has really been a beam of light over these months of e-learning. He always comes to class with a great attitude and makes us laugh everyday. He gives us ‘no stress Fridays’ every week so we can just relax and meditate to the video he plays for the class. He has made his class one of my favorites to go to everyday and I will miss it next semester.”
Grace Lightfoot, senior
“This shout-out is going to my coach, J.B. Hanson, who is a great teacher in and out of the school environment. Thank you for four great years of Cross Country and for framing my mindset with the cornerstones of hard work, determination, an insatiable hunger to better myself every day, and a refusal to accept mediocrity,”

I would like to shout out Mr. J, the choir director! Every day on zoom he greets our class with the biggest smile. He is always so welcoming and is very understanding of the hard times everyone is going through. And even though we can’t all sing together in one place, he makes choir a fun class to be in!

“I’m picking Mr. Clark because he’s just a really, really, nice teacher. I think he does a great job at making sure that everyone knows what’s going on in class, and is really helpful if you have questions”
Liam Mulroe, sophomore
“Delilah [Herzog] made a video in which she played her ukulele and sang a song about how much she appreciates her teachers. She shared her video with Student Council who shared with the entire faculty. She not only impacted me by reminding me how much she appreciates me, but she impacted the entire faculty of LZHS as well”
Katy Norberg, French teacher
“I would nominate Mrs. Carver because she is extremely understanding and flexible with the problems that come with an e-learning environment and is willing to put in the extra effort to accommodate for each student which is especially important in math. She is able to tailor her class for every student even if that means extra work for herself”

“Mackenzie Rough has been an amazing Spanish class participant! She is always willing to participate both in Zoom and when we are in the classroom. I appreciate her voice so much in a world full of black screens and mute buttons. Thank you Mackenzie!”

“I would nominate Mrs.. Carver because she is extremely understanding and flexible with the problems that come with an E-learning environment and is willing to put in the extra effort to accommodate for each student which is especially important in math. If it weren’t for her adaptability many students, myself included, would not be doing nearly as well in her class. She is able to tailor her class for every student even if that means extra work for herself.”
