PE Leadership Volleyball Tournament
The junior PE Leadership class is putting on a volleyball tournament December 16 to support the Alexander Leigh Center for Autism.
“PE Leadership is helping out for Charity Bash. The purpose is to have a fun, competitive game that benefits the charity. Also, it’s a good way for our leadership class to work together and put in all the work necessary in order to run the tournament successfully,” Amy Kudron, junior in the PE Leadership program, said. “The tournament is going to be run completely by the students, which is challenging, but it will be a good way to get kids interested and raise as much money as possible.”
Because the students are running the tournament all by themselves, the tournament will be more like what students like about tournaments, according to Kudron.
“[The tournament] really won’t be different [from previous years],” Kalynn Rhew, junior in the PE Leadership program, said. “We are really hoping a lot of people make teams to make it a great tournament.”
Like many other charity bash fundraisers, the goal of the tournament is to raise as much money for Charity Bash and ALCA, so everyone who participates in the tournament will be helping a good cause and having fun all at the same time, Rhew said.
“Charity Bash, as a whole, is something everyone should get involved in because there are so many opportunities,” Rhew said. “Volleyball is the kind of sport everyone loves and you don’t have to be super athletic to play in a charity tournament, so it’s fun whether your team is good or not,” Rhew said.
