Some may know Ross Lynch from the popular children’s TV show on Disney Channel, Austin & Ally, or Riker Lynch from popular teen show Glee; however, this family’s performing years came way before any acting opportunities.
As children, Ross and Riker Lynch along with two other siblings and friend Ellington Ratliff created a small band, which has grown into the great musical group they are today. R5 initially started in 2009, but did not catch enough momentum until Ross Lynch’s appearance on TV, according to Artist’s Direct’s website.
In their song, “Pass Me By,” the overall mood the listener gains from this song is the upbeat and happy, as if just having fun with friends in the middle of summer. However, the lyrics seem to become another cliché, being about a relationship, but the beat and mood of the song clearly make up for it.
Besides the song, the band and producers successfully paralleled the feeling of summer into the music video. The scenes that capture the liveliness and best memories of summer within the video lead to the video being referred to as “lively, happy, sparkling, and carefree,” according to All Music’s website.
R5 plans on creating more music to please their fans, also called the “R5 Family,” according to R5’s official website. They also toured the country ending tonight in Los Angeles, California.
