As we move into 2013, new shows are premiering on all the major networks. Many of these shows may end up only running one season, but some may go on for years. Which shows do you think will succeed?
“The Following”-
Kevin Bacon goes from Footloose to FBI in his new crime drama about a former FBI agent who is called in to consult after a serial killer escapes death row. Bacon’s character, Ryan Hardy, caught Joe Carroll during his first spree and the FBI calls him back from retirement, hoping he can do it again.
Carroll creates a network of copycat killers who follow his every command through a prison computer, and they help him in his escape. The show also features the back story of Carroll and how he began his killing spree. Carroll had been a college professor who taught about Edgar Allen Poe, and then killed his victims using Poe’s methods.
“The Following” premieres on Monday, January 21 at 8 pm on Fox.
“The Carrie Diaries”-
This prequel to “Sex and the City”, based on the books of the same name, stars AnnaSophia Robb as a young Carrie Bradshaw, who was played by Sarah Jessica Parker in the original series. The story centers around a sixteen year old Carrie as she navigates through life, featuring many issues relevant to teenagers today, including relationships, peer pressure, and planning for the future.
Carrie is offered an intern position at a law firm in Manhattan and must learn to balance her high school life with her new responsibilities. The show premieres on Monday, January 14 at 7 pm on The CW.
