The boys’ basketball team lost their second consecutive game lat night at Mundelein.
The team started out strong, trailing just 14-15 heading into the second quarter. Unfortunately, the lead slowly slipped from the team’s grip as they headed to the locker room down 38-24.
The game was aggressive in nature, and the team finished with 12 fouls, the team’s highest in non-tournament play this season.
As usual, the team battled back in the end, closing the margin to a 9-point game. Unfortunately, the Bears were unable to come back in full and walked off the court, losing 65-74 and under a .500 record.
“Our team played really hard and I think our energy was there for the whole game. We cut it to 5 at one point, but there’s a lot of positive things to build on off of the game. The pace was a lot faster than Warren’s, which enabled us to play to our strength, which is getting layups and fast-breaking. Mike Travalos really got hot in the game too, and he has the ability to carry us in stretches,” Arends said. “I’m just trying to do whatever the team needs me to do, and I just wanted to match Mundelien’s aggressiveness.”
