Baseball plays North Chicago for senior night, wins
Varsity baseball played the North Chicago baseball team on Thursday, May 21, which also acted as their senior night. The ceremony started at 4pm with each senior player representing his college with his parents by his side. All starters for the game were seniors, honoring their hard work in the program.
Teddy Noll, senior, pitched the four innings of the game, having nine strikeouts and one hit allowed. He also finished the game with a run batted in (RBI) to take the final point for the Bears.
By the end of the first inning, the score was 12-0. Seniors Sam Warady, Sean Moran, Anthony Montalbano, Sam Zoibi, DJ Postillion, and Steven Elrod scored to start off the game on a good note.
During the second inning, Warady, Moran, Zoibi, and Montalbano continued to contribute to the Bears’ success. Also, seniors Trevor Staley, Kyle Matuszewski, and Noll also scored for the Bears, carrying the score to 23-0 by the bottom of the second inning.
With no runs in the third inning, Noll scores the final run for the Bears in the bottom of the fourth inning to have the final score of 24-0.
Throughout the game, Warady had three RBIs with one by a walk. Moran and Montalbano each had five RBIs, Zoibi had three RBIs, Postillion and Elrod each had one RBI, Staley and Matuszewski each had two RBIs, and Noll also had two RBIs.
By slaughter rule, the game ended after the top of the 5th inning with the score of 24-0, ending with a Bear victory.
