The varsity boys’ basketball team has started off their season with 5 straight wins and no losses.

“We feel really good together this year,” Mike Travlos, senior basketball player, said. “We’re all clicking together on the court and having a really good time. We’re striving for at least 20 wins and a regional championship this year.”

Travlos scored his 1,000th career point as a Lake Zurich Bear on Saturday, November 29 against Chicago’s North Lawndale. Other players achieved greatness on Saturday as well, like lead scorer of the game Jack O’Neill, senior, with 21 points.

“I think this is one of the best boys’ basketball teams LZ has had in a while,” Travlos said. “We have a lot of talented players this year and we’re all really playing well together right now.”

The basketball program will be hosting Pack the Place night on Friday, December 5. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams will be competing.

“It’s the first time we’ve been ranked in the top 25 in years and we’re playing undefeated, number 16 ranked Zion, so it’s important for everyone to come support us at this big game,” Travlos said.
