Girls’ soccer tryouts will be Monday, March 3 through Thursday, March 6 next week, marking the start of the spring soccer season.

      Tryouts for freshmen and sophomores are 3:30 to 5:30pm in the field house Monday to Thursday. Junior and senior tryouts are 5:30 to 7:30pm in the field house Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday and Thursday the junior and senior tryouts are at 3:45 to 5:45pm at the Main Sports Center. The school will provide a bus to the sports complex, which leaves the school at 3:30pm. Tryouts may extend to Friday, according to the girls’ soccer website.

      There have been open gyms since December 12, 2013, so the girls have been working hard in preparation for the season. According to Claire Skowron, senior and returning varsity member, eight seniors graduated last year from the varsity team that won conference.

      “This spring season should be great! Every year, Lake Zurich proves to be a strong program and we definitely have a lot of talent coming through this year. The season starts next week with tryouts, and as soon as this snow finally melts, we’ll be able to get in some outdoor training,” Skowron said. “Senior year is bittersweet , but I wouldn’t rather end the year with anyone besides these girls.”

      Any girls wishing to tryout must fill out registration forms and turn them into the athletic office before they tryout. The forms can be found on the athletic department’s website.
