The Girls’ bowling team headed to State for the first time in team history.
The team qualified to bowl at Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Illinois February 8-9 by winning the Gurnee Sectional. The team sent eight girls to State, including individual Sectional Champion Dani Sikorski, senior.
“I am so proud of what these girls have accomplished this year. They have come together as a team to reach unbelievable heights,” Matt Sikorski, assistant coach, said. “They are a great group of girls and I am so happy to be able to say I am their coach. They have made me proud.”
The State roster included sophomores Brittney Pettinger and Jensen Anderson; junior Erin Morales; and seniors Christiann Finlon, Stephanie Klein, Erin Kyrk, Caitlin O’Donovan, and Dani Sikorski.
“We’re all super ecstatic to be able to experience state as a team,” Dani Sikorski, senior, said. “To us, state is a reward and anything that happens there is just a bonus.”
