Lake Zurich broke their three game losing streak tonight, winning 56-44 over the Libertyville Wildcats.
The team started out strong with an immediate 7 point lead, but then let it slip to end the half with a 1 point advantage. The teams leading scorers were seniors Ryan Roach, point guard, with 12 points, and Mike Travlos, guard, with 16 points.
The Bears outscored the Wildcats 15 to 10 in the first quarter. Libertyvilleattempted to make a comeback in the second quarter, outscoring the Bears12 to 8.
In the second half, the Bears came out strong and outshot the Cats in the third and fourth quarters. Travlos played well, and went 6 for 7 from the free throw line.
Brad Kruse, guard, fouled out of the game with two minutes left, and John Repplinger was injured in the final minutes of the game. Repplinger went two for two on the free throw line and scored nine points before he left the game.
With this win over the Wildcats, the Bears go 4-4 on the season and are looking toward their game next Saturday, December 15, which will be a non-conference match up against the Highland Park Giants.
