iAgents are Hiring!

The iAgents are looking for help to work during the 2016-2017 school year and the summer. Students can apply online and there will be an interview held shortly after.

“During the school year, [we work] during our lunch periods every day,” Jessie Houghton, sophomore iAgent, said. “We manage the iAgents Desk and help any students who are having trouble with their iPads. We also have hours over the summer where we work a six hour day for four days a week.”

IAgents are required to model good leadership qualities, be flexible with working hours during school and the summer, knows the AUP and supports, and have basic technology skills with the ipad, according to the application.

“You actually do not need to have any Apple specific knowledge to apply,” Houghton said. “Most people think you need qualifications, but all you need is an interest in helping people and technology on general.”

When the student gets the job, they will receive training during the summer in areas such as customer service and troubleshooting.

“We usually hire our applicants by first giving them iOS Qualification prep test and then giving them a interview the next following day,” Elijah Ogletree, sophomore iAgent, said. “We also ask for teachers to give the best recommendations they have about that student.”

According to the iAgent application form, the agents are to prepare iPads for the new school year, create training videos and articles for students, and attend training sessions. During the school year the students help answer students or teachers questions either in person at the help desk or through our online help desk, create articles or videos for the iAgent forum or newsletter addressing special topics or projects, and other special projects as assigned by the Supervisors.

“Usually we troubleshoot and solve kids or even teachers iPad and technical problems during the school year,” Ogletree said. “As for the summer we erase iPads, restore them, and then wizard them for the incoming freshmen and leaving seniors.”

iAgents are also required to treat every student that walks up to the iAgent help desk with respect and courtesy to make the student fell happy to come back at any times, according to Ogletree.

“[Being an iAgents] is never usually an individual task,” Ogletree said. “You must be prepared and willing to work as a team and for the team.”
