Bare Voices to Sing at Isaac Fox
The Bare Voices Choir will be serenading Isaac Fox elementary school students on February 11 for Valentine’s Day.
“I think the main thing about Bare Voices field trips is that for usual school field trips it’s usually about other people teaching students something so that they can gain some new knowledge, but with Bare Voices, it’s about us giving to the community through music,” Delaney Katz, sophomore in Bare Voices, said.
The Bare Voices Choir has done things like this concert before. According to Emily Bodett, senior in Bare Voices, Bare Voices goes out in December every year and shares what they have been working on with the community during the holiday season.
Bare Voices will be singing songs like Old MacDonald to the Isaac Fox students. Even though they will not be singing these songs for any upcoming concerts, Katz said she is excited to see the kids’ reactions to songs they will most likely know.
“Students should care about this because it is a way for us to show the younger kids what they have to look forward to when they get to high school,” Bodett said. “When we go out into the community, we are not only representing ourselves, but everyone else in our school. This makes our job important so we can set a good example to younger kids and other people in our school district, such as parents and staff members. If we do a good job, hopefully these students will want to participate in activities when they get into high school, which will benefit the school and community for generations to come.”
