Submission deadline for literacy magazine extended
The literacy magazine is extending submission deadline due to not having enough submissions for the spring magazine to December 1.
The club is looking for pieces of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and artwork that have new and unique ideas that LZ students create.
“We are looking for creativity and originality first and foremost, and then also grammar and having a handle on their type of writing,” Ray Paul, senior, said. “Lit mag is basically about collecting all the creativity of the school and being able to showcase it in one place, and over the past four years we have been ranked pretty high in the past.”
The Literary Magazine sends in the final product to National Council of English Teachers every year and has recently won the ranking of excellent for as long as Jennifer Schmitz, English teacher and Literary Magazine sponsor, has been working with the lit mag.
“The club (of about five students) has been meeting after school on Mondays, editing and reviewing all the submissions for the magazine,” Schmitz said.
