Student Council sponsors annual blood drive

Saving three people’s lives with just one pint

Today marked another annual blood drive held at the school. Over 100 students signed up and donated a pint of blood each, enough to save over 300 lives.

“I get to save three people’s lives with just a few minutes of my time,” Therese Madison, senior, said.

This is Madison’s fifth time donating, and she enjoys knowing she can help people, according to Madison. Madison isn’t the only person who enjoys giving back, however.

“[I decided to donate blood today] because I want to give back to the community,” Isabella Rosanova, junior, said. “It’s my first year [donating], but I just want to help out.”

Volunteers signed up to go in during their free periods to donate a pint of blood. After donating, the nurses kept them in the library, providing food and liquid, to make sure that everyone was ok. Participants were required to eat breakfast and stay hydrated.
