Homecoming assembly performances boost LZ Nation spirit
For the first time since 2003, students filed into the new bleachers today for a Homecoming assembly that changed up more than just the location.
Despite cold temperatures and wind chill, Student Council went through with their outdoor plan, and according to Nicole Marguerite, sophomore, the decision paid off.
“It’s cold outside, but I like the idea of using the new bleachers. Everyone can see everything this way because [the performers] are facing all of us, rather than people looking from one side of the gym,” Marguerite said
While most of the traditional Homecoming performances were kept in the assembly, such as Boys Poms and the Senior Athlete Dance, Student Council managed to add in new activities such as Hamster Ball Soccer and relay races in order to pump up the crowd.
“My favorite part was everything,” Carly Trebac, freshman, said. “It was amazing, and was the best assembly I’ve ever been to. I love all the dances and everyone was having fun.”
