Growing music club seeks sponsor

Brooke Branksy listens to her favorite music that she wishes to discuss within this new club.

The new music appreciation club hopes to begin meeting as soon as they can find a sponsor and room.

“We [plan on] talking about music, taking field trips about music, listen to music, tell stories about music. You don’t have to be involved with the music program, or play an instrument,” Brooke Branksy, sophomore, said.

Branksy, plans to run the club so music players, composers, and listeners can meet together.

There is one problem: no sponsor. To find a sponsor, an email would need to be staff and openings would need to be posted on the district website, according to Ryan Rubenstein, assistant principal.

Once a teacher steps forward, Branksy plans on recruiting members. According to Bransky, there is much interest in the club amongst her peers, since she first introduced the idea her freshman year.

“When I came to this school [last year] they didn’t have anything like it,” Branksy said. “Why not make one myself?”
