Bearbotics attend state regional
Bearbotics club placed in the top 9 for the robotics regionals last weekend against teams from Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Turkey, and Israel. Playoffs work by having 8 alliances of 3 teams each, and the LZ alliance got 3rd place.
“We had six weeks to design and build a robot that would complete the task assigned,” Brianna Dolan, senior, said.
The team created a game in which a robot had to stack totes and the more the team stacks, the more points the team gains. Next, the robot had to stack bins on top, and the more that are stacked, the more points the team can gain.
“Our team has a pretty good reputation,” Dolan said. “We make it to the playoffs just about every year, and the farthest we have gotten is to the finals.”
