Clocks raise questions among students
LZHS staff have installed new clocks throughout the building, but there has been some debate as to the purpose of these clocks.
Fifty-one new digital clocks line the hallways of LZHS donated by the Bear Booster Club and purchased from a company called Security Unlimited. There has, however, been some concern as to the nature of these clocks.
“I feel like they’re watching us,” Becca Beyer, junior, said. Beyer is one of many LZHS students who are suspicious that the clocks are intended to conceal cameras.
Other students appreciate the addition to school, however.
According to Elizabeth Gilbert, junior, the clocks look really high-class. She and other students saw at and FBLA competition that other schools had similar clocks, and thought it would be nice if our school had them too.
Despite some concerns and suspicions among students, the purpose of the clocks is to help students punctuality to class without having to take out their phones, according to Ryan Rubenstein, assistant principal for student activities and facilities.
“I really like them,” Mitchell Deery, junior, said. “They’re really helpful and nice.”
