District 95 will hold their third ‘Reception with the School Board’ on April 2. Members of the community, including high school students, are invited to attend to talk to the Board of Education members about any issue or topic.
“The format of the reception will be conversational, with two to three Board members at each table,” said Jean Malek, Director of Communications and Community Relations, in an email to Bear Facts. “We encourage people to submit questions or topics for discussion ahead of time so that Board members can come prepared.”
This is the first reception since the District held one to specifically address random drug testing when it was being considered in 2012. Several years prior to that, the Board held another reception which, like the upcoming one, had no specific issue to be addressed.
District Administration will also be in attendance to field any questions if needed, however, the focus will be primarily on the School Board, according to Malek.
Any topic is open for discussion at the Reception with the Board, and the community is encouraged by the Board to attend and voice any opinion or concern.
