Before break NHS raised a total of $1,100 for the tornado victims in Washington,
Illinois that suffered the effects of a series of tornadoes on November 17th.
In order to raise the money, NHS collected money during math classes and rewarded the class that raised the most money with a pizza party. Dan Ellis’s 7th period class raised the most money and received the pizza party.
The money will be donated to the McCormick Foundation, who will send 100 percent of the money to the Washington victims. The McCormick foundation will also match 50 percent of the high school’s total donation, according to Lauren McKee, president of NHS.

Mr.Ellis’s seventh period calculus class won the pizza party by raising a total of $179.40, according to Eric Xu, senior.
