Frosh Friday: Saxophonist tackles on the field and marching in the band
Frosh Friday featuring: Jacob Davis
Middle School: North
Q: What are your interests and what are you most excited about going into high school?
A: I am on the Freshmen football team for school and I enjoy technology, like computers. I’m mostly excited for band with [my instructors]. I’ve always had a liking for social studies and math.
Q: What are your goals for your freshmen year of high school?
A: To sustain good grades, have all As, and to excel in band. [I would like to] create a good friend relationship with most of the teachers.
Q: What would you like to accomplish throughout your four years of high school?
A: I would like to learn more about technology so I can work with computers for a future job, like insurance or to protect people’s private identities. I’d also like to eventually get to varsity football and excel through playing the saxophone.
Q: Are you nervous for the transition from middle school to high school?
A: Well I’ve been to the high school many times because of a camp, going to a concert event, or for my sister. I feel like I know the lifestyle of what the high school might be like, but I dont want to get lost I in the school because of how large it is.
Q: How do you plan on managing football and band?
A: Considering marching band is after school, I believe one day a week, and I have band through school each day then I think I’ll be okay. I’m not sure about the schedule [for football], but it’s after school each day. I see my main problem is going from marching band to football because at one point I will be playing on the field for varsity instrumentally, and have to be on the field for football.
