Envisioning the ideal hangout
The more things change, the more they stay the same and according to Jenna Lindholm, Spanish teacher, places for teens to get together is one thing that hasn’t necessarily changed all that much over the past decade. While there are certain spots that can be more popular than others, almost everyone has their favorite place to gather and hangout with friends.
“My friends and I liked to go to different places to dance since I was on the Poms team,” Lindholm said. “We also liked to go to this restaurant called Teddy’s Red Hots. They had French fries and Italian ice, so that was always a fun place to go.”
Despite having a favorite place to meet up, favorite hangouts aren’t a one size fit all — and favorites can change as people get older, she said.
“My friends and I don’t always have to go somewhere like, you know, to a restaurant,” she said. “Sometimes it’s just easier and more comfortable hanging out at home.”
