Pack the Place for Charity Bash hosted by Basketball Program
Pack the Place night for the basketball and wrestling programs on Friday, December 4, was used to get the school and community excited about the upcoming season and raise money for Charity Bash.
Pack the Place night was a great way to start off the upcoming basketball season. The fieldhouse was almost full with all the fans who were supporting the teams, as well as the band. With a win by the girls JV, girls Varsity, and boys Varsity teams, the night was a success.
“Pack the Place was a really fun time and it really brought our school together,” Eleni Papastratakos, sophomore JV girls basketball team manager, said.
One of the ways the basketball program made the games more fun was the half court shot at halftime during the boys Varsity game. Everyone who was at the game was able to donate money to the Alexander Leigh Center for Autism and they would get to write their name down for a chance to participate in the half court shot. For every dollar people donated, they would be able to enter in the contest three times. During half time five names were chosen to do the half court shot and whoever made the shot would be able to keep half of the money raised that night.
“I thought the half court shot was cool since the first girl made it right away, and it was really sweet of her to donate all the money back to the charity,” Kasey Joyce, sophomore, said.
The Pack the Place night was very successful, with all the donations for the Alexander Leigh Center for Autism.
